If you forgot your password or username, go here http://www.rifuture.org/component/user/reset and enter in your email address to receive a verification token which will allow you to reset your password.
Once you receive your token, copy and paste it into the space provided.
You will then be able to reset your password.
Important help with the Captcha:  The captcha is NOT case sensitive, so just type in all the letters in lower case.  I know it’s a pain in the ass, but it does actually work.  It may take more than one try.
If you do not remember your username or if you changed your email address, send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will reset your account.

How do I... Write a new post?

Once you are registered and have logged into your account, you may write a new post by clicking on the "Blog Dashboard" link under the "User Menu."  Click on the green "Write New Entry" tab to launch the MyBlog interface.  Enter a title for your post, and enter your post text in the box provided.  There are three different ways to enter and edit your text: Plain Text, Rich Text, Edit Code.  If you are unfamiliar with html, do NOT use the Edit Code feature.

Please proofread your post!  After you have entered your text, select a Category for the post, and add any relevant Tags to it (more information about these are below).  Save your post.

How do I... add a Category to my post?

Categories are supposed to be a broad description of the main topic of your post.  In the MyBlog interface, under "Publishing Options" is a drop down box where you can select a Category.

How do I... add Tags to my post?

Tags are more sophisticated classifications for your posts.  While a Category describes the main topic of the post, Tags are additional reference labels that better describe the content of the post.  For instance, a post about Providence property tax rates may be Categorized under Taxes, but Tagged as Providence, Property Tax, etc.  To add Tags, click on the "Tags" link in the MyBlog interface.  You can either assign Tags by entering them into the box provided (preferred), or you can browse the available Tags.  Important: when assigning Tags, you may assign multiple Tags by separating them with a comma.  When you have enetered all the Tags, you MUST click on the green + sign to apply them to your post.

How do I... Insert a photo into my post?

There are two different ways to insert a photo into your post.

1) From the internet: Using the Rich Text editor in the MyBlog interface, you will see three rows of icon.  Place your cursor in the position where you would like the image to appear in your post and click the "Insert/Edit Image" icon.  Insert the URL of the image and set the alignment (right or left justified, if necessary).

2) From your computer: Using the MyBlog interface, select "Images & Documents," then "Upload."  Browse for the image on your computer and upload it.  Once uploaded, place your cursor in the position where you would like the image to appear in your post and single click on the image from your saved images.

Please post other questions you may have in the comments below.
